Quickscape (Win95)
Once you have installed, make sure that you are connected to the Internet before running Quickscape. Next, click on the 'Try' button on the Quickscape splash screen and follow the instructions on the screen to activate Quickscape for a free trial. |
|
Quickscape is the first 'thin' Java browser that is designed to simplify and speed up Web browsing.
In browser mode, Quickscape rapidly scans any Web page, identifies every ongoing link and displays them together with a minimum amount of descriptive text in an easy to read index form. This typically takes only 5-10% of the time needed to download an entire page. You can then navigate a cascading list of links, one page per level.
Clicking on an underlined link switches to your favourite conventional browser (Navigator, Communicator, or Internet Explorer) to display the selected page. The results of any Quickscape session can be edited to eliminate unwanted links.
Installation instructions:
There are two versions, Sun Java (click the link to install) and Microsoft Java: Microsoft Java Runtime must be installed on your computer before you install the Microsoft Java version of Quickscape — if you do not already have it, click here to install Microsoft Java Runtime; after that, or if you do already have MSJR, click here to install the Microsft Java version of Quickscape.
